Happy New Year! Did you get your New Year's kiss at midnight? Did you party the night away? I.....fell asleep. I don't know why, but I just can't seem to keep my eyes open for very long once 10pm hits. This past holiday season was a huge success for me. I got to see lots of my family, I dressed my dog up in adorable sweaters (which he hated) and I hate SO MUCH FOOD. Really, the amount of food I consumed was incredible, I'm a little embarassed thinking back now. But it's not like full course meals that I didn't have to make are presented to me everyday. I was just being polite and enjoying the hard work my family put into each meal. Yeah.
The reality is, I need to start a new chapter and treat my body better. What's the saying? My body is a temple? Exercising and dieting might seem like hard work, and that's definitely true. But it doesn't have to be a chore and you don't have to dread it anymore. I scoured my pinterest boards, put together my favorite smoothie and snack recipes. I even found some workout challenges that take about 20 minutes to do everyday. How awesome is that?

January is a great time to start a monthly challenge don't you think? I found this chart for exactly 31 days but you can shorten it or lengthen it depending on which month you want to work on. I love schedules so these challenges really help me stay on track with my workout routines. I like printing these out on a blank
calendar and then mapping out my meals for each week.
I love weekly schedules with simple exercises. These really are anywhere workouts. Most of these workouts should only take you 10 minutes or even less depending how fast you are. I tend to do my sets in between saving files or waiting for blogs to upload. I'm a multi-tasker at heart.

Make sure to check out the website for more detailed explanations of each workout. What's great about this is that they included pictures of the correct form for each move. Remember, if its too easy you need to increase your weights but don't over do it! Build up strength and endurance slowly, try adding some more weight every week.

I believe in me and I believe in you! You don't have to become a gym junkie, but I think we can all take steps to be a little healthier and make better snack decisions. Don't let your New Year's resolution be a January fad, keep at it! Its been said before, but try getting a workout buddy or building a support group for yourself. Nowadays there a ton of great communities online you can join so you don't have to feel alone in this.
